Robert J. Kowalski, Sr., age 71, of Troy, passed away at 10:20 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab in Edwardsville. He was born August 22, 1945 in Belleville, the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Elselsor) Kowalski. He married Sharon Menendez. She preceded him in death in December of 2005.

He is survived by two children: Traci (Jeff) Alford of St. Jacob and Robert J. (Linda) Kowalski, Jr. of Troy; four grandchildren: Kasey, Jordyn, Kyle and Katelyn; and one brother, Jerry (Pat) Kowalski of Pierron.
According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated and no services will be held.
