In Memory of

James

Furtkamp

Condolences

Condolence From: Chuck DeLorme
Condolence: I knew your dad and mom as neighbors and friends for 25 years. Jim and I would talk every now and then and it was always an interesting exchange which made me smile or laugh especially when he had a simple explanation for the problem. He was a popular guy with numerous friends stopping by and spending time at his home. I was envious because he had friends that came to his home and it reminded me of my hometown when friends often stopped by to say Hi. He must have been a special friend to lots of people over the years. That is special. I’ll missed him waving as I passed his home daily and he was bent over the front porch rail enjoying a favorite pastime! I think you will have many favorite memories of dad and your mom that you can share with family and friends as you revisit the life and times of Jim Furtcamp. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Chuck & Sue.

Condolence: Mr Furtkamp was a very good teacher, who was respected by his pupils and deserves to be called Mister. He taught us not only our lessons but how to respect others and prepared us for our future. I had him as a teacher at Summerfield Grade School from 1964 thru 1967. He also coached our basketball team. He was fun to be around unless you got that look that told you your in trouble now. Jim you will be missed.

Condolence: He was my favorite teacher of all time, teaching me 1964-65, 7th, 8th grades. I have kept in touch for all these years at Christmas, mostly. Last summer, I was fortunate enough to visit IL and see him. (I live in PA)I had also seen him in the 80's when I was visiting. He made us want to learn. His sense of humor was great and I will never forget him. I am so very sorry for your loss, he was very special. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless.
