Obituary for Alex F. Ferraris
Alex F. Ferraris, age 97, of Dorsey, died at 3:05 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Heritage Health Center in Staunton.
He was born August 28, 1923 in St. Louis, MO, the son of the late Alexander and Rose Nina (Mazza) Ferraris. He married Dolores Raining April 12, 1947 in Webster Groves, MO. She survives.
Besides his wife, Alex is survived by four children: Linda A. Tompkins of Kemp, TX, Patricia (Ronald) Long of Edwardsville, James A. Ferraris of Worden and Sandra M. (Mark) Zirkelbach of Kemp, TX; four grandchildren: Mandy R. (Dustin) Riechmann of Alhambra, Ronald A. Long, Jr. of Edwardsville, Tyler Ferraris of Worden and Megan Ferraris of Godfrey; and five great-grandchildren: Ayla Long, Regan Long, Brody Riechmann, Clayton Riechmann and Serena Riechmann.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Alex V. Ferraris, Jr.
Mr. Ferraris worked as a heavy equipment operator of Hayden Wrecking, and was a member of Operating Engineers Local 513. He was a former member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville, and was a member of the Quarter Horse Association and the American Paint Horse Association.
A private burial will be held at St. Boniface Cemetery in Edwardsville.
