Billy Joe Hayes Sr, 71, was born September 15, 1947 passed away peacefully Saturday August 31st 2019 in Hammond, LA. Billy was married to the love of his life Halline McAdoo on July 2, 1966. Preceding him in death is his wife, Halline Hayes, son, John Hayes, father, Robert W. Hayes Sr, mother Marie Hayes (nee Thompson), brothers, Franklin Hayes, Robert Hayes Jr, Otis Hayes, Donald Dean Hayes, sisters, Rosalee Hayes, Joan Rangle, Pamela Lee and Jackie Keel.
Surviving are his children, Tina (Timothy) Boothman of Collinsville, Billy J Hayes Jr of Caseyville and David (Melissa) Hayes of Caseyville. Grandchildren Michael (Karolina) of San Antonio, TX, Danielle (Steven) Reid of Caseyville, Cora Thompson of St. Louis, MO, Samantha Darron, Billy J Hayes III of Durango, CO, Dustin Hayes of Collinsville, Madison Hayes of Caseyville. Great Grandchildren Allissa and Ashton Boothman of San Antonio, TX. Also very good friends, Rhonda Covington and family of Albany, LA.
Billy was a very hard working man all of his life, he took care of all of his family. Billy worked as a trailer mechanic for many years. Billy was a Volunteer Firefighter for State Park Fire Department for 34+ years. Billy was also a Volunteer Police Officer for State Park for several years. Billy was a friend to all that knew him and could spend hours talking about old times.
Billy requested to not have a funeral but to be cremated and his ashes be mixed with the love of his life, Halline, who he missed so very much. As per his wishes, the family is having a Celebration of Life for Billy on September 15, 2019 to be announced where and time at a later date.
