Blake was a respected Veteran here at Freedom Place. He was going to school, working part-time and a man on the move. I told him one time that I ALWAYS was happy to see him, as we crossed paths to the elevator and rounded a corner, by the mailboxes, on the first floor. He didn't say a word, but came back around the corner, to give me a hearty hug, When ever Uber didn't work, he would give me a call to take him, to the grocery store and helped me out, by giving me a couple of bucks. There was so much that I wanted to ask him about and so much that he kept in reserve. I tried to ask him about his colorful tatoos - he explained that it would take a lifetime to answer my questions. He was a Dad, but did not explain any feelings about having a daughter on Father's Day.

About 830 on Wednesday evening, he asked me to come to his apartment. He explained that for several weeks, his washer did not work, so his mom and I had washed some clothes for him. Then the dryer vent was not hooked up, he had pulled it out from the little closet to see if he could fix why hot air was blowing into his apartment. He would call me with his debit card and gave me the number, so I could shop for him.
I just wish that I ciould have met him sooner so that we could have told more happier stories, than the one we are leaving you now. With a great affection and admiration towards his family.... I wanted to leave you with more than one big hug.

Best regards, Stephen Schorle
