Obituary for Bobby Johnson

Bobby Johnson, 76, of Collinsville, died May 31st at Caseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation in Collinsville, Illinois.

Bobby was born on April 16th 1945 to the late John Henry and Melinda (Miller) Johnson in Osceola, Ark.. After graduating from Richland High School he went on to serve in the military and was honorably discharged in 1970.

After discharge, he landed his first job as a mechanic and served in that capacity for many years. He was married to Alberta (Granger) Johnson and to that union bore three children Bobby Johnson Jr, TeeHewitt Johnson, and Angela Johnson-Green. He also had another son John Sawyer of Detroit, Michigan. He is survived by his wife, three children, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his five siblings Eddie Jean Finley (Osceola, Ark.), Myra Beard (Indianapolis, In.), Charles Lee Walker (Indianapolis, In.), Pearlie Walker (Ark.) and Bill Walker (Sikeston, Mo.).

Bobby was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud and always tried his best to support them.

Bobby was also a passionate motorcyclist and could often be found on a Harley when he wasn’t at home.

There will be a memorial/celebration of life June 16th, 4 to 6 pm at Kalmer Memorial Services, 8638 US Highway 50, between Lebanon and O'Fallon.
