Obituary for Bryan Duncan

Bryan Duncan, age 55, of Beckemeyer, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at his residence.

He was born January 24, 1965 in Wood River, IL, the son of the late Carol (Haar) Duncan. He married Rita Deiters November 25, 1987. She preceded him in death March 16, 2018.

Besides his mother and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Duncan; his sister-in-law, Cathy Wolfe; and his father-in-law, Herman Deiters.

Surviving are two sons: Nathan (Ashley) Duncan of Breese and Alex Duncan of Beckemeyer; four grandchildren: Ethan, Mackenzie, Natalie and Jaxson Duncan; one brother, Todd (Linda) Duncan of Texas; one sister, Debbie (Greg) Meyer of Breese; three nephews: Gregory, Dylan and Jacob Meyer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Stan Wolfe of Beckemeyer, Tom (Jean) Deiters of Breese, Larry (Darla) Deiters of Breese, MaryLynn Hepner of Galva, IL, Father James Deiters of O’Fallon, IL, Gary Deiters of Washington, IL and Julie (Steve) Peters of Breese; and his mother-in-law MaryBeth (Dwight) Shubert) of Beckemeyer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews and friends.

Bryan liked to fish, play washers, shoot pool and loved his rock music and air guitar. He owned and operated Dunks Classic Sounds DJ Service with his wife, Rita from 1990-2000. He was employed as a fork-lift operator for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed spending his last days cruising the town of Beckemeyer on his golf cart.

A celebration of Bryan’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Breese Southside Park.
