Dale Robert Ozee, age 78, of Highland, died at 9:15 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland.

He was born August 9, 1944 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of the late Clarence and Margaret (Smythe) Ozee.
He married Ruth Pelate April 9, 1965 in East. St. Louis. She survives.

Besides his wife, Mr. Ozee is survived by a daughter, Michelle Ozee-Young of Highland; two grandsons: Trent Young and Trevor Young; one sister, Joy Cook (Gary McLean) of Lebanon; a brother-in-law, Frank (Lee “Skip”) Pelate; a sister-in-law, Dottie (Gary) Graves; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Monique Ozee; his biological mother, Virginia Couch; three brothers: Ronald Couch, Gene Couch and Richard Couch; one sister, Shirley Strabough; one nephew, Scott Graves and one niece, Jamie Cook.

Mr. Ozee retired as an engineer from the Terminal Rail Road. He enjoyed horseshoes, tennis, archery, metal detecting and was an avid photographer.

A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the Troy VFW hall, 123 W. Market St., Troy Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
