Obituary for Dannie L. Kelly

Dannie L. Kelly, 81, of O’Fallon, IL, passed away on Sunday, March, 29, 2015, in Lebanon, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie J. Kelly (nee Lovelady) who passed away in 1987; and his parents Lewis M. and Thula D. (Coleman) Kelly.

Surviving are his daughters Susan Kelly of Woodhaven, NY and Laura McKinney of O’Fallon, IL; his grandsons Brian McKinney of San Diego, CA and David Laemle of Woodhaven, NY; and his brother Marvin D. Kelly of Jacksonville, FL.

He was born April 28, 1933, in Shreveport, LA. His family moved to Miami, Florida in 1939. He graduated from Miami Edison Senior High School in 1950 and later graduated from Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, FL. He lived and worked in Florida until 2010 when he moved to Illinois. In addition to Miami, he lived for many years in Key Largo and Winter Garden. Over the years, he was creative and had many interests and hobbies: carpentry, snorkeling, home marine aquariums, gardening, bottle hunting in the mangrove swamps of the Florida Keys, and fossil hunting on the banks of the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, FL. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

There will be a memorial service in Florida later this year.
