Obituary for Daphne Henri-Foley

Daphne Henri-Foley, age 69, of Star Lake, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 2, 2022, surrounded by family at her sister’s residence in Collinsville, IL after her third battle with cancer. A celebration of her life will be held over the summer in her hometown of Star Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her GoFundMe Flower Fund to beautify Star Lake.

Daphne was active in her community, loved her friends and family, and cherished her life in Star Lake. She enjoyed several hobbies such as gardening, exploring trails in her side-by-side, entertaining family visits during serene summers on the lake, and loving on her dogs (Sam, Zoe, and Teddy). Her passion led her to plant flowers annually throughout her hometown and in her own garden, which is why the Flower Fund was established in her honor.

She was born May 1, 1953 in Star Lake, NY, the daughter of Allan Henri, whom resides in Florida, and the late Cecelia Henri. She lived in a handful of places throughout the United States, but spent her career at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX from where she retired and returned to Star Lake.

Besides her father, she is survived by a son, Shane Francis Foley (Jon Markee) of Indianapolis, IN; four siblings: Corinne Henri of Collinsville, IL, Joy Carta (Vinnie) of Safety Harbor, FL, Roe McCarthy (the late Lynn) of Riverview, FL and Kevin Henri (Kim), also of Valrico, FL; and numerous dearly loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family is greatly appreciative of everyone who shared fond memories over the weeks and months leading up to her passing. The family would also like to thank the nurses and staff of BJC Hospice. According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated and scattered in New York at a later date.
