Obituary for Diane C. Dietz
Diane Carol (Etling) Dietz, 58, of Lebanon, IL, passed away on August 29, 2020. She was born to Charles and Carol Etling on December 21, 1961 in Belleville, IL. She married the love of her life, Kurt Dietz on September 4, 1982.
Diane was a devoted mother and grandmother, lovingly referred to as “Nana.” She was a kind hearted person who lived life to the fullest and loved being surrounded by family and friends entertaining and celebrating special occasions, dancing, canning, and caring for others. She was active in the community and loved by all.
Throughout her life she held multiple positions along her career path, including working with her husband to build and run Kurt’s Home Improvement. Afterwards, she helped manage Brewer’s Bar & Grill in Lebanon, IL.
She is survived by her husband, Kurt Dietz; children Matt (Karen) Dietz of Trenton, IL; Chris (Dominque) Dietz of St. Charles, MO; Tina (Brian) Behlke of Lebanon, IL; grandchildren Lance Behlke; Alyssa & Nolan Dietz; and Asher Dietz; mother Carol Etling of Belleville, IL; siblings David (Linda) Etling of Belleville, IL; Dawn (Bobby) Sparks of Belleville, IL; mother-in-law Jeanette Dietz of Fairview Heights, IL; sister-in-law Pam (Don) Schmidt of Collinsville, IL; brother-in-law Rod (Val) Dietz of O’Fallon, IL. She is also survived by many very special and loving nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles “Coke” Etling, father-in-law Charles Dietz and cousin Sandy Gronemeyer Murphy.
Memorials can be made to Siteman Cancer Center or to the family. A memorial gathering will be held from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Horner Park,11113 Widicus Rd, Lebanon, IL 62254. The gathering will be held under the pavilion.
