Obituary for Donald L. Hintz
Donald L. Hintz, age 85, of Breese, formerly of Germantown, died peacefully at his home at 7:29 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023.
He was born October 4, 1937 in Boulder, IL, the son of the late Carl and Oma (Duncan) Hintz. He married Joan Pille in 1965. She preceded him in death in 2012. He later married Ruth Thole. She survives.
He is also survived by his son, Timothy (Susie) Hintz of New Baden and daughter Jennifer Hintz of St. Louis; two grandchildren: Cassidy Hintz and Calvin Hintz; three step-children: Kathleen Hawthorne, Angela (Mike) Wiegmann and Kenneth (Diane) Thole; six step-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; and two nieces: Crystal (Rolf) Arndt and Vickie (Dave) Reeves.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Todd Hintz; and two sisters: Lois Clary and Gail Schniers.
Donald always enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, casinos, bingo and the St. Louis Cardinals.
According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated and no services will be held. Burial of his ashes will be at St. Boniface Cemetery in Germantown. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. Boniface Church in Germantown, and may be mailed to Kalmer Memorial Services, PO Box 254, Lebanon, IL 62254.
