Obituary for Donald Holtgrave
Donald Holtgrave, age 80, of Germantown, died Friday, July 24, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon.
He was born August 25, 1939 in St. Rose, the son of the late Louis and Elsie (Schrage) Holtgrave. He married Jeanette Rosen June 3, 1961. She preceded him in death July 18, 2004.
Don is survived by four children: Christopher Holtgrave (significant other Sheri Ford) of Carterville, IL, Philip Holtgrave (significant other Rhonda Saltzman) of St. Louis, Patrick (Lisa) Holtgrave of Highland and Jill (the late Chuck) Boeckmann of San Pedro, CA; four grandchildren: Gabrielle Bergmann (significant other Jeff Eilers), Robert Bergmann, Olivia Holtgrave and Abigail Holtgrave; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Holtgrave of Belleville, IL.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Holtgrave; and two half-siblings: Hank Holtgrave and Delores Holtgrave.
Don worked for General Motors and was a former member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown.
According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated and no services will be held. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery in Germantown.
