Obituary for Donna J. Schmittling (Freivogel)
Donna J. Schmittling, age 63, of Belleville, died at 7:35 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
She was born April 18, 1959 in Belleville, the daughter of the late William and Mary Ann (Daenzer) Freivogel. She married Randall Schmittling October 25, 1980 in Belleville. He survives.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three children: Rachel Rae Allen, Andrew Schmittling and Nicholas (Ashley) Schmittling, all of Belleville; seven grandchildren: Aleaha, Alyse, Isabella, Sophie, Devon, Alexander and Emerson; three brothers: Robert (Linda) Freivogel of Shiloh, William Freivogel of Cahokia Heights and Brian (Nancy) Freivogel of Belleville; and a brother-in-law, Bryan (Wendy) Schmittling of Shiloh.
Donna was a very loving wife, mother, and especially a grandmother. She worked at Friday's as a bartender and cook. She was also a cook at the restaurant HY-HO. Donna touched a lot of lives through-out the years. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
