Obituary for Douglas Ferguson
Douglas Ferguson, age 91, of Lebanon, died at 3:10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2020 at his residence.
He was born April 24, 1928 in Portage, WI, the son of the late Edward and Hazel (Douglas) Ferguson. He married Nancy Lauer. She preceded him in death April 15, 2003.
He is survived by two children: Jane (Kenneth) Strubhart of Lebanon and James (Christy) Ferguson of Glen Carbon; three grandchildren: Lauren Strubhart, Heather (Nathan) Rudy and Tyler Ferguson; two great-grandchildren: Grayson Rudy and Briar Rudy; and a half-sister, Donna Mittelstaedt.
Mr. Ferguson retired from a 22 year career with the US Army. While in the military, he served as a Chauffeur for many VIPs in Washington, DC, primarily at the White House. He also traveled with the Secret Service, along with the US presidents under which he served. He was a former member of the Lebanon Singers.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at College Hill Cemetery in Lebanon at a later date.
