Obituary for Douglas K. McQuaid

Douglas K. McQuaid,68, passed away on April 2, 2020 at St. Elizebeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon. Douglas was born September 6, 1951 in Aspinwall, PA to the late Wallace & Jean(Stuart) McQuaid. He was raised in the Pittsburgh area enjoying time with family, especially Grandma Daisy’s camp. He joined the United States Air Force and proudly served our country for over 20 years.

Doug is survived by his wife, Mary Jo nee Przywitowski, who he married on January 12, 1974. They have three children Colleen(John) Glattfelt of Lebanon, IL, Jacob(Amana) McQuaid of Rochester, NH, and Sarah(Stephen) Seidel of Chico, TX. Doug loved being Grandpa Doug to his two grandchildren, Dallas and Reagan. Doug is also survived by his siblings, Connie(Ted) McGowan of Virginia, Laurie McQuaid of California, and Bill McQuaid of Washington. He is loved and remembered by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

HIs family was always of utmost importance to him. Besides spending time with his immediate and extended family, he had many hobbies. Doug enjoyed metal detecting, collecting coins, playing cards, bowling( he even bowled a few 300s) and bingo. Doug was an avid Bridge player. He has played all around the country in Bridge tournaments with family and friends. He worked his way through the ranks and ended his Bridge career as a Ruby Life Master.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Lebanon First United Methodist Church, 603 W. St. Louis St. Lebanon, IL. Memorials may be given to YBEO, c/o Don Klingsick, 7480 Rt. 143, Edwardsville, IL 62025.
