Fred Joseph Leone, age 75, of Belleville, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 23, 2018 at his residence, in the care of his loving wife of 49 years, Linda (Burke) Leone, and Family Hospice. He was born October 12, 1942 in Jersey City, NJ, the son of the late Fred and Carmela “Betty” (Cappadona) Leone.

Besides his wife, Fred is survived by two sons: Nicholas (Alissa) Leone of Tampa, FL and Christopher (Laura) Leone of Stuttgart, Germany; one grandchild, Isabella Leone; his mother-in-law, Brenda Burke of Belleville; a sister-in-law, Kim (Dale) Hindman of Belleville; one brother-in-law, Bob (Judi) Burke of North Carolina; and multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. He is also survived by their beloved granddogs, Indy and Bella.

Mr. Leone was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was the coach and commissioner for the Howell Hawks basketball team.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 at First United Presbyterian Church, 1303 Royal Heights Road in Belleville, with a memorial service immediately following at the church. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Leone family, Family Hospice or the First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville.
