Gilda J. Mazzone, age 100, of Alton, died Sunday, September 29, 2013. She was born September 5, 1913 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Peter and Nancy Muto. Married Philip Mazzone in 1932 in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1962.
She is survived by two children: Philip P. Mazzone of Alton, Joy(James) Hoopes of Florida. Four grand-children: Cara McFarlane of Alton, Peter(Gillian)Mazzone of Pa., James P.(Nancy) Hoopes of Mn., and Kimberly Hoopes of Mn. Nine great-grand-children: Madison Exton, Kaija Ufert, Tayen Orr, Kyridas Orr, Lael Mazzone, James J Hoopes, Jeffrey Hoopes, Thomas Hoopes, Michael Hoopes. Preceded in death by her siblings: Louis, Edith, Yolanda, Emma and Mario. Also by her daughter-in-law Cherie Mazzone. Survived by special friend Julie Ingram.
