Obituary for H. Joe "Coach" Loewe
Harry Joe “Coach” “Papa Joe” Loewe, age 87, of Glen Carbon, died at 5:00 a.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Meridian Village Care Center in Glen Carbon.
The insidious effects of Alzheimer’s can no longer harm him. He’s in Heaven with his friends Joe Cunningham and Stan Musial havin a beer while watching St Louis Cardinals spring training. He’s in a perfect body with a razor sharp mind and wit. We Love You Dad.. we miss you already. We’ll be along soon enough so, have a glove ready for that game of catch.
He was born November 21, 1934 in Bonne Terre, MO, the son of the late Floyd and Louise (Dodson) Loewe. He married Mary J. Pautler, August 10, 1957. She survives.
Also surviving are three children: Kimberly Loewe of St. Louis, Kevin (Lori Jan) of Tucson, AZ, and Kris (Deb Aerne) Loewe of St. Louis, MO; one grandchild, Caleb Tucker-Loewe of Pittsburgh, PA; a bonus grandson, Dane Aerne; and one sibling: David (Clara Jo) Loewe of DeSoto, MO.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Floyd Loewe, Jr.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 1007 Olive St, Evansville, IL 62242. Burial of his cremated remains will be in Evansville Cemetery.
