Obituary for Heidi M. Crouch (Kniffel)

Heidi Marie (Kniffel) Crouch, age 61, of Highland, formerly of Holiday Shores in Edwardsville, IL., passed away at 12:03 a.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

She was born on January 19, 1960 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Rev. William Kniffel and Susan (Weisenbarger) Kniffel.

A graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Heidi was an award-winning, top-ranked advertising and sales representative at Hometown for many years up until just recently.

Heidi was extremely proud of her talented daughter, Bailey, and truly loved her husband Steve. She would often brag about how great a cook and maker-of-all-things he was. She loved hanging out with her sisters and friends.

Heidi was known as the life of the party, fun loving, affectionate, and always dancing. She loved glamping in her camper, “Susie”, named after her beloved mom. She was an accomplished shopper and power-napper, who never passed up a garage sale. She knew how to get a bargain and save money so that she could generously treat the loved ones in her life. She was a matching fashionista until the end.

She is survived by her husband Steve Crouch of Highland, daughter Bailey N. Crouch of St. Louis, sisters Robin Kniffel and Heather V. Kniffel of Edwardsville, stepmom Sumiko Kniffel of Yokohama, Japan, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2021 at Kalmer Memorial Services, 8638 US Hwy. 50, between Lebanon and O’Fallon, IL.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis, MO., to honor her love of all children.
