Obituary for James L. Freeman

James Lawson Freeman, age 90, of Troy, IL, left this earth to be with his Eternal Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.
He was born March 21, 1925 in Kenton, Obine County, TN to Solomon Willis and Mary Margaret (nee, Buford) Freeman. James married Virginia L (nee, Bost) on October 25, 1952 and had resided in Florissant, MO, Black Jack, MO, Alhambra, IL, Wood River, IL and most recently Troy, IL.
James was a WWII veteran serving in the Marine Corps 4th division from 1943 – 1945. He had tours in Roi-Namur, Tinian, Saipan and Iowa Jima. He graduated from Memphis State University, Memphis, TN in 1950.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Edwardsville, IL. and was ordained as a Deacon on October 19, 1952 at West Florissant Baptist Church. He served the Lord and his Church as a Deacon at Florissant Valley Baptist Church, Florissant, MO and Meadowbrook Baptist Church, Meadowbrook, IL.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife - Virginia (2004), Brother - Lawrence Freeman (1980), Sister - Mary Ida (nee, Freeman) Morse (2013), Brother In Law – Robert Morse (1982), Brother In Law – Karl Bost (2005) and Sister In Law – Nadine “Deanie” (nee, Parks) Bost (2015).
He is survived by his Son, Dr. James C. Freeman of Chesterfield, MO; his Daughter, Julie (Craig) Bernreuter of Troy, IL; Grandchildren: Nichole Freeman, DVM, Kristopher Freeman, Garrett Bernreuter, Olivia (Mohanad) Meqbil, Holly Freeman and Collette Bernreuter. Great Grand Child: Lana Meqbil, and Sister, Elvira (nee, Freeman) Cox of Humboldt, TN, and several Nieces and Nephews.
Memorials to American Bible Society, Billy Graham Evangelical Association or Calvary Baptist Church
His body was donated to Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri.
