Obituary for Joanne B. Smith (Bement)
Joanne B. Smith, age 83, of Trenton, IL, formerly of southern California and central Florida, died at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at her residence.
She was born October 8, 1935 in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of the late George and Martha (Eyles) Bement. She married Donald Smith. He survives.
Besides her husband, Joanne is survived by a daughter, Kerri Smith of Lake Mary, FL. She was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Shipman.
Mrs. Smith was an elementary school teacher in Cerritos, CA and Utica, MI. She primarily taught kindergarten.
According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated. No service will be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers tribute donations can be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
