Obituary for John F. "Jack, Pops" Brentlinger
John F. Brentlinger, age 86, of Summerfield, died at 6:20 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2020 at his residence.
He was born August 27, 1934 in St. Louis, MO, the son of the late Adam and Genevieve (Gielow) Brentlinger. He married Catherine Gault August 28, 1988. She survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by six children: Peggy (Robert) King, Grace (Rod) Lichtenberg, Georgee (Steve) Blankenship,, Roberta (Clyde Wayne) Everhart, Patty Lancey and Mary Lancey; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, David Brentlinger; and one sister, Virginia Thurmon.
Mr. Brentlinger was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Brentlinger; a daughter, Tammy Sadler; and several siblings.
John served his country in the US Army as a paratrooper.
A memorial gathering will be held from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Kalmer Mwemorial Services, located on Rt. 50 between Lebanon and O'Fallon. Masks will be required and Social Distancing guidelines will be employed.
