Obituary for Linda S. Young
Linda S. Young, age 71, of Mascoutah, died Thursday, June 3, 2021 after an extended illness.
She was born September 5, 1949 in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of the late Maurice Eugene and Bernice Rose (Dohrn) Young.
Linda graduated from Alleman High School in 1967, Black Hawk College in Moline, IL with her LPN and Sacramento City College in Sacramento, CA with a Registered Nurse degree She was a registered nurse for over 40 years. She was fortunate to work at some prestigious teaching medical centers; including the University of Alabama-Birmingham and the University of California-Davis. She worked in Critical Care for most of her career. Her final assignment was part of the COVID-19 testing vaccine staff with Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Linda was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Belleville.
She is survived by a son and a daughter: Jason (Mitzi) Wagner and Jennifer (Mike) Gasparich; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria Hamlin. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jeff; and three rainbow babies.
