Obituary for Lowell L. Halliburton

Lowell L. Halliburton, age 86, of Swansea, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Four Fountains Convalescent Center in Belleville. He was born April 18, 1928 in Marion, IL, the son of the late John and Maude (Johns) Halliburton. He married Nancy Watson. She survives. Also surviving are two children: Mike Halliburton of Maryland Heights, MO and Kelley Halliburton of Swansea; two nieces and one nephew. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Halliburton.

Mr. Halliburton retired from the Veteran's Administration as a Management Analyst. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Belleville American Legion. He was also a former Director of the Black Knights Drum and Bugle Corps.

According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated and a private interment of his ashes will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the Belleville Area Humane Society.
