Obituary for Marian R. Donaldson (Fleming)
Marian R. Donaldson, age 91, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, died at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Four Fountains Nursing Center in Belleville.
She was born May 24, 1929 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Aubrey Lynn and Loraine (Kaler) Fleming. She married James R. Donaldson on August 22, 1969, he preceded her in death February 1, 2006. She married Curtis Miller Hansberry January 28, 1950, he preceded her in death November 10, 1999.
She is survived by four children: Kurt (spouse Kathy Fischer) Hansberry of Alexandria, MN, Scott (Sharon nee Vivian) Hansberry of Troy, IL, Kim (significant other Kevin Johnson) Yandre of Rapid City, SD and Randy (Stefanie nee Bratzke) Hansberry of Belleville; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Marian graduated from Southwest High School St. Louis, MO in 1947. She started work right after high school at Ralston Purina Company, St. Louis, MO., as a statistical Clerk until 1956. She was able to work in the Civil Service wherever her husband was stationed in the Army holding several clerical positions. She was a member of the Albuquerque Red Hat Society and the Bridge Club in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. She loved having luncheons with her girlfriends and going on trips with them to Laughlin Nevada. She loved clothes and jewelry and was very meticulous about her appearance.
Marian’s remains will be cremated and her ashes will be buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, next to her husband, at a later date.
