Michelle LaNier, age 51, of Maryville, died at 7:01 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Collinsville. She was born February 23, 1965 in East St. Louis, the daughter of Coena LaNier. Her mother preceded her in death. She is survived by her partner of 23 years, Laura Sullivan; and Laura's parents, Dwayne and Joyce Sullivan of Collinsville.

Michelle graduated from Assumption High School in East St. Louis and received a bachelor's degree from SIUE. She enjoyed cooking and traveling, especially to New Orleans.

According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated. No services will be held. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
