Obituary for Muriel A. "Arline" Strong (Radford)
Muriel A. "Arline" Strong, age 88, of Swansea, IL, died at Thursday, January 13, 2022 at her residence.
She was born July 18, 1933 in Madison, IL, the daughter of the late Orville Lamar and Dorothy Mae (Cooper) Radford. She married George "Kenneth" Strong February 5, 1953 in East St. Louis. He survives.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three children: Judith Elaine (Philip) Schaefer of Swansea, Dorothy Anne (Brian) Maue of South Dakota and Kelly Lynn (Mark) Judisch of Des Moines, IA; four granddaughters; one grandson; six great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings: Robert Lee Radford and Margaret Elaine Sanderson.
Muriel was a homemaker who liked working in her yard and going fishing. In their retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling to craft fairs to display Ken’s wooden toys. She was a past member of the Wednesday Club of Belleville, the Rob Morris Chapter 98 of Eastern Star, and the local Prime Timers CB Club where she was known as “Powderpuff”.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to a Community Garden of your choice
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
