Myra E. Walden, nee Werges, age 97 of Fairview Heights passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Charles Gardens Independent Living Community in Fairview Heights. She was born November 4, 1918 in New Haven, MO, the daughter of the late Henry and Meta (Bullinger) Werges. She married Merle Walden October 1, 1938 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death in 1983. She is survived by two children: Robert Walden of Poca, WV and Debra Pyles of Fairview Heights, IL; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Jean Adams. Mrs. Walden was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Fairview Heights, IL, Queen City Order of the Eastern Star, Ainad Belles and The Wednesday Club. Memorial contributions may be given to Shiner's Hospital. According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated and her ashes buried at Valhalla Cemetery in Belleville.
