Obituary for Patsey Joyce Powell (Stief)
Patsey Joyce Powell, age 87, of Coulterville, IL, died at 8:37 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, IL.
She was born February 12, 1933 in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of tha late Robert Lee and Martha Irene (Allison) Stief. She married Barney T. Powell. He preceded her in death in 2005.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee Powell; her son-in-law, Dennis Helbig; a brother, Robert Stief; a sister, Carol Lee Lynch; and a brother-in-law, Clayton Gibson.
Surviving are a daughter, Pamela Helbig of Coulterville; three grandchildren: Dennis ((Heather) Helbig, Jr of Carlinville, IL, Erin (Andrew) Kollmeyer of Perryville, MO and Jacob (Angie) Helbig of Belleville; three great-grandchildren: Brittany Mitchell, Lauren Helbig and Alexander Helbig; and three siblings: Geraldine Gibson of Oakdale, IL, Harold Wayne (Joetta) Stief of Collinsville and Sharon Kaye (Dennis) Mullens of Emporium, KS.
Her remains will be cremated and no services will be held at this time.
