Paul A. Zeigler, age 59, of Edwardsville died peacefully Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Anderson Hospital under the care of Hospice of Southern Illinois with his family by his side.
He was born May 21, 1962 in Granite City the son of Frances (Harbison) Zeigler and the late Donald R. Zeigler. Paul married Laura L. Ripper on June 25, 1994 at St. Mary’s Church in Edwardsville. She survives.
Besides his wife and mother, Paul is survived by his mother’s companion, Mike Hahne; a brother, John Zeigler of Granite City; a half-brother, Rusty Zeigler; two half-sisters, Angela and Vicky; nieces, Ashley Bussell and Tiffany Zeigler; and numerous cousins, a great niece and a great nephew. Paul was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
A longtime resident of the Village of Glen Carbon, Paul was employed by the Village for many years, retiring in 2015 due to ill health. He and Laura moved to Edwardsville in 2019 in order to be closer to family. He enjoyed family game night, watching wrestling and movies on television and he especially loved going on cruises with family members. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Edwardsville and a proud member of Edwardsville Knights of Columbus Council 1143 and Fourth Degree Assembly 0225.
Visitation will be held of Monday, February 14, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Edwardsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7 p.m. at the church immediately following the visitation. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2002 at St. Boniface Cemetery in Edwardsville.
