Obituary for Robert A. Hansen

Robert A. Hansen age 44, of Lebanon, died at 12:43 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

He was born December 23, 1976 at Clark Air Force Base, Luzon Island, Philippines, the son of Maria (Garcia) Hansen and the late David L. Hansen.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife Shannon, two children who he always thought of as his own flesh and blood: Matthias Leisure and Maiya Leisure; two brothers: Michael Hansen (Jenny) and Charles Hansen (Malyn), both of St. Louis; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Robert enjoyed his time with his wife and kids, stepping into the role as a bonus dad seamlessly. Always cheering the kids on and celebrating their accomplishments. A favorite pastime was watching the St Louis Blues play while he enjoyed the game from the season ticket seats, sharing the experiences with his family as often as he could. It was one of Roberts greatest moments, watching The Blues win the Stanley Cup, and then getting to share the experience of touching the cup and having a photo with his brothers, Michael and Charles.

Robert had many hobbies and passions, Star Wars and Lego were the big ones; many who have been to the house, or even seen photos, know you will see Lego builds all around him. Paintball was a part of Robert for the better part of his entire life. Robert tried to spend as many weekends as he could with his paintball team. He had a passion for paintball, so much so, he has a published article in a paintball magazine.
Robert was a quiet person, not wanting to burden anyone with the news of his health issues. He was just starting to make short videos, discussing the various issues he had been experiencing with the liver disease, always finishing each video with “Be Kind to your liver”.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday November 6, 2021 at 4PM Xtreme paintball park, 3545 Douglas Road Millstadt, IL 62260.
