Ronald Irwin Young passed away unexpectedly on February 23, 2021 while enroute to appointments for the day. He was born on January 21, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Irwin Fredrick and Astrid (Bobbie Jackson) Young.

He served on the USS Chukawan from 1949-1951 in the Korean War.

He was horseman, mechanic, fisherman, archer, field trial judge and owner/trainer of two national caliber Field Champions. He was a lifelong aficionado of Gordon and Red Setter bird dogs. His hobbies also included wood working, precision shooting and maker of arrows and ammo. His professional life was Quality Control Engineer, primarily working in the automotive field, eventually retiring from Magna International in Nashville, IL. In his retirement from active outdoors he took to collecting trains that reminded him of his youth in Chicago. He was a passionate Chicago Bulls fan, who took delight in the sports activities of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

At points of his life journey, he was married to Emma Flick and Barbara Greenwood who have both preceded him in death along with his beloved brothers and sisters, Terry Young, Judy (Young) Trier, Patricia (Young) Guy, and Dennis Young.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Christie, who was a great partner to all the things he loved to do and faithfully tolerated his bigger than life persona. He is also survived by his “pinecones”, his children Kim Craddock (Dennis), Eric Young, Lisa Buffo (Carl), Wendy Young (Mark) and Justine Baldocchi. He took pride in his many grandchildren Jessica Combs, Megan Grassel (Aaron), Kenton Craddock, Dena Craddock, Mallory Norton (Jay), William Baldocchi, Anthony Baldocchi, Braidee Shorman (Joe), Taylor Young and Joshua Young. He was also proud of his Step Children, David Arnold, Holly Arnold, Beth Arnold, Erik Craddock, Donne Schlessinger (Aricellis) and Christian (Andria) Powell. He is also survived by many Grand and Great Grandchildren in addition to his three beloved dogs, Gypsy, Bella, and Lunar who will give comfort to Christie during her grieving journey.

He lived his life his way, passionately and fiercely. Dad, Daddy, Pa’ pa, Hutchibaba….we miss you already and take some comfort that the fantastic five (siblings) are back as a team again and now watch over us.
