Sarah Lynn Barton, age 59, of Swansea, passed away peacefully Friday, June 25, 2021 at her home.
She was born February 8, 1962 in Nevada, MO, the daughter of the late Anthony John and Tonnie (Marler) Bowman. She married Lowell L. “Skip” Barton July 16, 2011.
Besides her husband, Sarah is survived by three children: Isaac Paul (Valerie) Snellgrove of Westland, MI, Adrian Christopher (Lizeth) Snellgrove of Sahuarita, AZ and Leah Renee Capples of Swansea; two step-children: Robin (Josh) Fuhler of Brussels, IL and Jesse Barton of Columbus, OH; seven grandchildren: Nathalia, Annabelle, Cameron, Ian, Aarion, Courtland and Laney; and a sister, Theresa Taylor of Novi, MI.
Sarah was a CNA with Aperion Care in Mascoutah. She was a person full of love, fun, and adventure. She loved riding on the back of the Harley with her husband Skip with the wind blowing through her hair. She always called Skip the cowboy to her Indian heritage. She was well known for her big heart and took many under her wing. That love was shown through her service at her church, her work with the elderly and disabled, and all those that found shelter in her home. You could often find her in nature, hunting for wild mushrooms, and used her green thumb to grow a beautiful garden. She is greatly missed by all those who loved her.
A memorial service will be provided at the Community Bible Church 4940 Benchmark Centre Drive, Swansea IL 62226, Thursday, July 1, 2021. Visitation starts at 9:00am, funeral service at 11:00am.
