Obituary

Sharon M. Zelko, nee Wobbe, age 51, of St. Charles, MO, formerly of Breese, IL, died Saturday, October 19, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, MO.

She was born November 29, 1967 in Breese, the daughter of Mary Ann (Rolfingsmeyer) Wobbe of Breese and the late Jerome Wobbe.

Besides her mother, Sharon is survived by her husband, Alan Zelko, whom she married May 16, 2014. Also surviving are three step-children: Joshua (Amanda) Zelko of San Diego, CA, Noah Zelko of St. Charles, MO and Lydia Zelko, also of St. Charles, MO; one grandchild, Joshua and Amanda’s daughter, Skylynn; three siblings: Laura (Mark) Loepker of Beckemeyer, Jason Wobbe of Breese and Amy (Mark) Kuhl of Liberty, MO; six nieces and nephews: Sara Loepker, Rachel Loepker, Jacob Loepker, Allison (Matt) Schroeder, Austin Kuhl and Meghan Kuhl; one great nephew, Kayne Schroeder and one great-niece, Kora Schroeder; her brother-in-law, Dr. Robert (Carol) Zelko of Wisconsin; her sister-in-law, Cheryl (Mike Stauss) Zelko of Wisconsin; and her mother-in-law, Gloria Zelko of Florida. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Besides her father, she was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Albert Zelko.

Sharon was a 1985 graduate of Central High School in Breese, and a 1997 graduate of Kaskaskia College with a degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for DaVita Dialysis Clinic in St. Charles, MO, where her patients loved her dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her dog, Max, and her husband (in that order). She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved vacationing in Florida and Wisconsin, where she and her husband planned to retire early. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her nieces and nephews will forever miss their Aunt Sharon.

To celebrate Sharon’s life, family and friends are invited to join us at the Mosaic Church at 8804 Old US Highway 50, Breese, IL 62230. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 from 10-11 am with services at 11 am.

Memorials can be made to Clinton County Humane Society, Mosaic Church or to Hannah’s Playground.
As a request of Sharon’s husband, please come dressed as your casual-self and bring your favorite memory of Sharon to share at the service.
