Obituary for Thomas M. Crossman Jr.

Thomas M. Crossman, Jr., age 81, of Edwardsville, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his residence.

Tom was born March 11, 1937 in Granite City, IL, the son of the late Thomas M. Crossman Sr. and Josephine (Gerteis) Crossman. He married Shirley E. Langenwalter. She preceded him in death in 1998. He later married Nancy Randall Kelly. She survives.

Also surviving are two children: Dru Ann Faust of Edwardville and Kyle Crossman of Jefferson City, MO; three grandchildren: Hunter Faust, Smanatha Crossman and Taylor Crossman; four step-children: James Randall of Edwardsville, Cherie (Jeff) Randall-Rubin of Des Peres, MO; Lori (Steve) Chatman of Lake St. Louis, MO and Roger Randall of Houston, TX; six step-grandchildren: Aaron and Madeline Rubin, Amanda (Matt) Tesdall, Bob Galkowski, Elizabeth Sheahan and Emma Kramer; and three step-great-grandchildren: Grace, Owen and Lennon Tesdall.

Tom was the owner of Crossman Roofing in Edwardsville. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of the Edwardsville Jaycees, the Hot Rod Club of Edwardsville, Poker Club, The Gateway Getaways chapter of FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association), and the Runaways Motorhome Club of Springfield, IL.

Tom loved and enjoyed his family and friends. He enjoyed their winters in Gold Canyon, Arizona and traveling the in their Motor coach to see the United States. He was able to travel to Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska. His outdoor activites included hunting, water skiing, scuba diving, snow skiing, snowmobiling, and horseback riding.

He was a lover of cars and airplanes. He travelled to the Indy 500 several times and never missed the Indy and Daytona races on TV. He had flights in a B25 Mitchell bomber, a B17 Flying Fortress bomber, and an SNJ Trainer.

Tom was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle,
brother-in-law and friend. This man worked hard, loved deeply, and made life better for everyone. We will miss him everyday.

According to his wishes, his remains were cremated.
