Obituary for Trena Roddy

Trena Roddy
Trena Roddy, age 48, of Shiloh, formerly of Corpus Christi, TX, died at 4:20 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at her residence, with her family by her side. She was born October 18, 1966 in Corpus Christi, TX, the daughter of the late James T. and Rita J. (Haile) Roddy. She is survived by two brothers: Ted (Meredith) Roddy of Austin, TX and Roger (Coryn) Roddy of Shiloh; and three nieces and one nephew: Madelyn Nowak-Roddy, Natalee Nowak-Roddy, Georgia Roddy and Joe Seth Roddy.

Trena was a graduate of Richard King High School in Corpus Christi, Texas and attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She was a member of the Beta Tau chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at Texas Tech University. Trena had an amazing artistic talent and studied marketing, merchandising and design. She moved to Illinois later in life and enjoyed calling both St Louis, Missouri and Belleville, Illinois home. While in the Metro East she worked at Lord & Taylor and Brooks Brothers in St Louis, Missouri and Basset Furniture in Fairview Heights, Illinois. In the last couple of years before moving back to Illinois, she lived in Dallas, Texas and was employed by Fuhu, Inc. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Fuhu, Inc. family of friends for their genuine concern and compassion shown to Trena. Her greatest wish was to return to work which was not realized. She thoroughly enjoyed marketing children’s computers/tablets and learning about the latest technology updates.

Trena’s cremains will be scattered in a field of bluebonnets in Texas in the Spring of 2015. She truly loved her Texas heritage and a celebration of life service will be scheduled also in the Spring with the location and date yet to be determined. The family request that in lieu of flowers, any monetary contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
