Wayne A. Bannert, age 59, of Highland, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, while camping at Carlyle Lake.

He was born September 23, 1958 in East St. Louis, IL, the son of Pauline (Keel) Bannert of Mascoutah, and the late Louis Bannert. He married Ethel Anderson in 2005. She survives. Also surviving are two children: Wayne (Rachel) Bannert of Coulterville, IL and Dawn (Richard) Enloe of Highland; nine grandchildren: Christopher, Victoria, Jade, Lenny, Dakota, Ella, Noah, Ethan and Hazel; one great-grandchild, Kendra; and six siblings: James (Debbie) Bready of Caseyville, Louis Bannert of Springfield, OH, Debbie (Walter) Mohr-Ray of Belleville, Eunice (Wayne) Harrington of Mascoutah, Tammy (the late Chris) Englerth of Decatur and Kathy (Chase) Kramlich of Florida.

Mr. Bannert retired from the US Bankruptcy Court in East St. Louis as Chief Deputy Clerk. He also worked for H & R Block for 33 years.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Highland Community Church in Highland, IL.
