Obituary for William M. Hohrein
William M. Hohrein, age 93, of Belleville, died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Aperion Care Center in Mascoutah.
He was born July 27, 1927 in Lebanon, IL, the son of the late William and Celeste (Lauer) Hohrein. He married the love of his life, Jeri Helwig March 8, 1974. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons: Mike Hohrein of Inverness, FL and Scott (Jenny) Johnson of Aviston, IL; seven grandchildren: Luke Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Josh Lawrence, Jack Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Chelsea Weber, and Autumn Wiggens; and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hohrein was a veteran of the Army Air Corps. After his military service he worked in civil service at Scott Air Force Base. He was a member of the Swansea Moose Lodge 1221 and Belleville Elks Lodge 481. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially fishing, hunting, archery and golf.
According to his wishes, his remains will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
