Carol J. Traub, age 73, of Carlyle, formerly of Jerseyville, died at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese. She was born October 5, 1939 in Jerseyville, the daughter of the late Sherman and Esther (Plummer) Dabbs. She is survived by four children: John Eric Brendel of St. Louis, MO, Kelly Brendel of Florida, Tim Brendel of Villa Ridge, MO and Toby Traub of California; three grandchildren: Julie, Jessie and Jamie; and three sisters: Vera Neal of Jerseyville, Sharon Marks of Florida and June King, also of Florida.

Ms. Traub was a secretary. She also worked in security for Shell Oil Co. According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
