Obituary for Amelia L. Wolf (Lippert)

Amelia L.  Wolf (Lippert)
Amelia L. Wolf, age 100, of Lebanon, died at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at her daughter's residence in Lebanon. She was born September 4, 1910 in Venice, IL, the daughter of the late Edward and Augusta (Schmitz) Lippert. She married Frank H. Wolf September 11, 1931 in Nashville, IL. He preceded her in death in 1972. She is survived by 2 daughters: Ann Dora Kreigh of Higginsville, MO and Nicolyn (George) Rau of Lebanon; 8 grandchildren: Rene Rau-Glennon, Melinda Roth, Susan Roth, Sara Wolf, Scott Wolf, Nancy Sparks, Billy Asher and Lisa Roberts; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and 2 cousins: Helen Adne of Belleville and Emilie Lippert of Falls City, IN. She was preceded in death by a son, John F. Wolf.

Mrs. Wolf was a school teacher at the Emerald Mound School, north of Lebanon; and the Union Grove School, which was south of Lebanon. She also taught in the Lebanon and Mascoutah school districts. She received a bachelor's degree in Education from McKendree College (now McKendree University). She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Lebanon and had been involved with the Ruth Ann Society, the Women's Fellowship and was a Sunday School teacher. She was an honorary member of the Lebanon Women's Club and was an avid Bridge player.

Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Lebanon. A memorial service will immediately follow. Burial of her ashes will be in College Hill Cemetery in Lebanon at 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011.
