Christina A. Fortman, age 66, of New Athens, IL, died at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at New Athens Home for the Aged. She was born October 12, 1946 in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mae (Greene) Fortman. She is survived by a daughter, Melodie (Cortez) Nesbitt of Marissa, IL; five grandchildren: Dale Nerone, Aionna Nesbitt, Jonah Nesbitt, Malcolm Nesbitt and Jiah Nesbitt; two brothers: Joseph (Ida) Fortman of Waterloo and Paul Fortman of Freeburg; one sister, Margie Mehrtens of Potosi,MO; one sister-in-law, Faye Fortman of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence Kehoe; and one brother, Michael Fortman.

Ms. Fortman was a homemaker. She was also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated and no services will be held.
