Obituary for Cynthia J. Brooks

Cynthia Jean Brooks, age 72, of Belleville, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. She was born August 13, 1945 in Belleville, the daughter of the late James A. and Marie P. (Burns) Brooks.

She is survived by her children: Edwina (Tommy) Johnson of O’Fallon, Michael (Debra) Brooks of Cahokia, Marcus (Annette) Nevels of Belleville, Frederick Nevels of St. Louis and Shanzetta Nevels of Venice; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one brother, James Brooks of Belleville; three sisters: Patricia Smith of Belleville, Shirley A. Jackson of St. Louis and Linda D. (Stanley) Humphries of Belleville; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieceas-great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, 9900 St. Clair Ave, Fairview Heights IL. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation.
