When we first met, I had no idea how much I would learn to love yet another soul I'd never met. But hospice paired us so well. We were the same age, we were part of the medical field, in love with mission work and well traveled; I shall never forget the day and time, exactly where I was and what I was doing. I never told you this, but the day I was paired with you, I was sitting right outside of Jim's nursing home (my first hospice friend) and realized he was never going to be my Jim again AND it so happened to be the same day my only maternal aunt was rushed to the hospital that very evening...she too passed away. Anyway, Cindy just knew we'd be a great fit and although I wasn't quite sure about taking on another patient so soon, she was. It took us an entire year to get that book finished! But, you had a vision, and a certain musician in mind. I enjoyed every peanut butter banana sandwich, the white mocha fraps your mom made and of course the endless pictures of all your family. Danie, I will miss you dearly but I am so glad you are no longer in pain. No more misdiagnoses, no more ridiculous run-arounds with the state and no more feeling guilty about not being able to do as you once could. Now, now all you have is a perfect peace. And babe, you deserve it. Peace, love and bread from Moldova! Israel (Hospice 2012-2013)
