George C.  Raines Jr.
George C. Raines, Jr., age 64, of Belleville, formerly of O’Fallon, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. He was born December 23, 1953 in Belleville. He was preceded in death by his parents, George C. Raines, Sr. and Marie L. (Labenne) Raines; a nephew, Craig Mattox; and a great-nephew Matthew Wiskamp.

He is survived by his siblings: Gina Raines of Appalatchacola, FL, Rosanne Raines-Wheatley of Belleville, Dodie H. Archibald of Dallas, TX, Theresa L. Gilbert of Middletown, MO, Drew Malone Raines, III of Little Rock, AR and Melonee Hartzman of San Antonio, TX; nine nieces and nephews: Danielle Barfield, Jeffrey Crispi, Becky Gilbert, Brittany Gilbert, Sarah Song, Mary Archibald, Terri Wiggins, Jason Mattox and Bryan Raines; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and many, many dear friends.

George was a career veteran of the US Navy, retiring as Petty Officer, 1st Class.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018, starting at 12:00 noon, at the O’Fallon VFW Hall, 221 W. 1st St in O’Fallon. His cremated remains will be buried at sea. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to:
