Obituary for Glenn Deloy Warren

Glenn Deloy  Warren
Glenn Deloy Warren, age 96 of Cedar Ridge Care and Rehab Center, formerly of Desoto, MO. He was born December 22, 1921. Glenn was born on the land near Octa, MO. Glenn was the son of the late Daniel Bell and Catherine F. (Stout) Warren. He was very proud of his heritage, Cherokee Indian. He married Lois E. (McDonnough) Warren, February 15, 1944 in Chicago. She preceded him in death, January 3, 1983.
Surviving are his three daughters: Carolyne Warren of Magnolia, TX, Mary Wiese (Felipe Leyva) of Belleville, IL and Glenda (David) Williams of Summerfield, IL; six granddaughters Tamara (Steve) Pearl of Eden Isle, LA, Kimberley (Dan) Fleig of Maryland Heights, MO, Wendy Hoffman of Belleville, IL, Heather Williams (Dave Albert) of Waterloo, IL, Darien (Joe) Wilson of Highlands Ranch, CO, Dawn Scronce (Bill Forness) of Belleville, IL; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his eight brothers and sisters.
Mr. Warren was a Fireman in National City for 20+ years. He was also a member of Laborer’s Local 42 in St. Louis, MO, working in highway construction. He was a US Army veteran of WWll, serving as a combat engineer. He was injured on D-Day, receiving a Purple Heart. Glenn was a lifetime member of both the VFW Post 805, and the American Legion.
Visitation will be from 9-11a.m. at Kalmer Memorial Services, on Highway 50, Lebanon, IL. Gary Kniepkamp will officiate funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Oddfellows Cemetery in Pinckneyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Johns United Church of Christ in Summerfield, IL 62289.
