Obituary for Hazel M. Timmons (Case)

Hazel M.  Timmons (Case)
Hazel M. Timmons, age 91, of O'Fallon, formerly of Tulsa, OK, died at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, August 25, 2013 at her granddaughter's residence in Lebanon. She was born April 1, 1922 in Centralia, MO, daughter of the late Perry and Ester (Dayton) Case.

Ms. Timmons was a caregiver. Hazel enjoyed Bible study, sewing, gardening, building furniture, making crafts, and traveling to visit family and friends.
She most recently lived at Cambridge House in O’Fallon, Illinois, where she loved decorating her apartment, reading, and visiting with family, friends, and staff members. She especially enjoyed their pork chops and fried chicken.
Hazel lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for over 50 years, where she attended church at the West Tulsa Gospel Tabernacle. She worked as a cook at the Tulsa Boys Home and Sherwood Manor Nursing Home, as a house mother for young women, and as a home care provider for the elderly, young children, and newborns.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Hope Bettis, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her sister, Rose Willis, of Whitehorn, California; her granddaughter, Anita Wald Leach, and her husband, Robert, of Lebanon, Illinois; her granddaughter, Teresa Bettis, of Joplin, Missouri; her grandson, Roy McHenry, and his wife, Jenifer of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and eleven great grandchildren; a grandson-in-law, Olivier Honnay of Hershey, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Louise McHenry; 2 sons-in-law: William McHenry and Richard Bettis; 2 grandchildren: Paul Wald and Jerri Bettis Honnay; and 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, OK. Funeral Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, OK. A reception in Ms. Timmons' memory will be from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
