Obituary for Jeff Lee Jones Sr.

Jeff Lee  Jones Sr.
Jeff Lee Jones, Sr., age 48, of Mascoutah, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 in Glen Carbon, IL. He was born July 7, 1965 in East St. Louis, IL, the son of John and Lynette (Knobeloch) Jones of Mascoutah. In addition to his parents, he is survived by four children: Jeff Jones Jr. (fiance Katie Osborn), Kyle (Rebecca) Jones, Luke Jones and Emily Jones, all of Granite City; one sister, Jina Oakley of Mascoutah; two nieces: Rabeka and Sheri Oakley; a special friend and her family, Joan Conreaux of Glen Carbon; and his aunts and uncles: Mary and Hans Moser of Douglasville, GA, Rebecca Neal of Quinlan, MO, Herbert and Elizabeth Knobeloch of Mascoutah, Johnny and Becky Knobeloch of Mascoutah, Jean and Fred Munie of Caseyville, Dennis and Pam Knobeloch of Mascoutah and Karen and Howard Mayes of St. Charles, MO.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Herbert and Helen (Clark) Knobeloch; and his paternal grandparents, John and Rebecca (Mounce) Jones.

Mr. Jones was a 1983 graduate of Mascoutah High School. He worked at Grandpas and Value City in Swansea for many years. He then worked in security for Ameristar Casino in St. Charles, MO. He continued his career by moving to Jackpot, NV, where he became the Director of Surveillance at Cactus Pete's Casino. When he returned to Illinois, he purchased a franchise, Revive, in which he distributed energy mints. He then purchased another franchise, Superglass, a windshield repair business. He was then offered a position at Bergheger Chrysler Dodge in Mascoutah, where he became the Detail Manager, among many other positions within the dealership.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
