Joyce M. Martin, age 89, of Troy, died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013at her residence. She was born September 20, 1924 in Oregon City, OR, the daughter of the late Martin L. and Alene (Hicks) Smith. She was raised on the Smith Ranch near Walden, CO until 1940. She married Lee M. Martin February 20, 1946. He preceded her in death August 13, 2006. She is survived by two sons: Stanley Martin of Troy and Steven (Martha Jane) Martin of Marine; five grandchildren: Stanley Martin, Jr., Thomas Scott Martin, Benjamin Jonathon Martin, Andrew Travis Martin and Courtney Merz; five great-grandchildren: Zachary, Matthew, Macy, Layla and Kadyn; and one brother, Martin L. Smith, Jr., of Evanston, WY. Besides her parents and husband, she was preveded in death by four brothers and sisters: Lila Forbes, Eleanor Hughes, Ednamarion Carlson and Frances Bujack.

Mrs. Martin was a homemaker. According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held
