Obituary for Lynn Earl Laurie

Lynn Earl  Laurie
Lynn Earl Laurie died January 2, 2016, in Lebanon, Illinois at the age of 65. He was born in Wichita, Kansas. His parents were William M. Laurie and Ruth E. (Wright) Laurie. Lynn married Constance “Connie” King on June 10, 1973, in Lebanon, Illinois.
Lynn moved to Lebanon, Illinois in 1960. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1968. He served in Vietnam as a member of the U.S. Army before attending and graduating from Illinois State University in 1979.
Lynn worked as a computer system design analyst. He retired from Wells Fargo Advisers in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 1, 2015. He enjoyed many years of singing with the First United Methodist Church choir, reading, leading scouting programming, getting out in the woods whenever possible, and generally doing anything with his children and family.
Lynn is survived by his wife Connie. Also surviving are his children Neva L. Laurie-Berry and spouse Christopher Berry of University Place, Washington, and Alexander J. Laurie and his spouse Elizabeth A. Fischer Laurie of Alexandria, Virginia. He has two grandchildren Wesley E. Berry and Emma H. Berry. His mother Ruth E. Laurie survives along with his brother, Michael (Betty) Laurie, and sister-in-law, Rebecca Laurie. He was particularly close to sister- and brother-in-law Clelia and Marion Betts and a host of nieces and nephews.
His father William M. Laurie and brother Harold R. Laurie are deceased.
A Memorial Celebration of his Life will be held at 11 A.M. on January 9th at First United Methodist Church in Lebanon, Illinois with Visitation at 10 A.M. Memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.
